BROOKFIELD — A man suspected of crimes in Pennsylvania and Michigan was arrested Saturday by Brookfield police following a traffic stop.
Brookfield police stopped Amos Mushatt Jr. Saturday for having no license plate after police received a call about a possibly intoxicated driver, according to the Brookfield Police Facebook page.
After speaking with Mushatt, officers learned that the vehicle he was driving was reported stolen out of Pennsylvania, and Mushatt was arrested on suspicion of receiving stolen property.
Officers also learned Mushatt was suspected of stealing multiple vehicles in Michigan and Pennsylvania, breaking into a bank in Pennsylvania, and he was suspected of kidnapping a juvenile in Michigan, Brookfield police stated.
Police took possession of suspected stolen property from the bank in the vehicle and took custody of the allegedly kidnapped juvenile, they stated.
Mushatt was taken to the Trumbull County jail, where he awaits arraignment in Eastern District Court.
